The Outlet gets naked to celebrate A1 opening
Banbridge based outlet village unveils advertising more than the average campaign

To celebrate the unveiling of the new road, and the first ever continuous motorway or dual carriageway that links Dublin to Belfast, the Banbridge based outlet village commissioned the new ‘naked truth’ advertising campaign featuring naked men and women from all over the island of Ireland of all ages, shapes and sizes. The campaign celebrates both the range of products available at The OUTLET and the diversity of people the retail village caters for.
A spokesperson from The OUTLET commented: “We are delighted the A1 is finally fully operational. Travel times will now be greatly reduced making it much easier for Irish shoppers to head North to shop for bargains at The OUTLET. Our new campaign attracts attention to our unique selling point – that we offer up to 70% off every day. The ‘naked truth’ is that we take more off when it comes to offering discounted bargains for shoppers, every day, all year round.”
The long awaited opening of the A1 will slash journey times for shoppers, weekenders and business travellers who drive between Belfast and Dublin. According to The OUTLET, it can only be positive for businesses and tourist attractions in Northern Ireland. “A good roads infrastructure is essential if businesses along the A1 and beyond are to become a viable alternative for shoppers from South of the border.” Stated the spokesperson. “There are clearly many factors that influence cross border shopping but one of the most frustrating issues has hopefully been resolved. We are confident we will continue to attract shoppers from the Republic of Ireland as the ‘naked truth’ is – we take more off.”
The advertising campaign launched this weekend North and South of the border and event organisers at The OUTLET have even laid on a special ‘Glee’ themed weekend to entertain Irish shoppers planning to make the trip North for this weekend’s Republic of Ireland Bank Holiday. Activity begins at 1pm at the retail village and includes dance troupes, competitions, American football challenges and spot prize giveaways for shoppers on Bank Holiday Monday. The OUTLET Village, located 15 minutes North of Newry, is ideally situated for motorists heading North with drive times around Newry almost halved with the new bypass. The retail village also offers free parking for over 1,500 cars.
The £70 million outlet centre comprises 80 retail units arranged in a curved design stretching one third of a mile. The OUTLET employs over 550 staff and is the first phase of the 1.2 million sq ft (111,480 sq m) Bridgewater Park scheme.
