The company has provided call centre support and taking donations from the generous public in Northern Ireland by ‘phone, text, email and via the Cool FM website. With the radiothon running for a mammoth non-stop 60 hours, Message Pad’s hard-working agents have handled a total of 3,490 calls and dealt with 2,110 text messages, emails and pledges from the website.
The Cash For Kids’ radiothon is to raise money for children in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital; with Message Pad’s assistance, the radiothon has reached a total of £108,500.00, a figure which is expected to increase in the weeks to come.

Message Pad’s offices in Holywood have also played host to Cool FM’s radiothon presenters, with programmes broadcasting directly from the call centre, live webcams following both the presenters and the agents at work and some of the agents even getting an unexpected 15 minutes of fame with on-the-spot interviews!  As a long-established company in Northern Ireland, the chance to support this local charity was one Message Pad could not pass up; with tight deadlines, a complex solution was devised for the agents to use which would mean that all pledges, no matter where they originated from, would be promptly captured and, most importantly, the payments quickly processed.

Paul Adamson, Message Pad’s director, explains “Every year, Message Pad gets involved with at least one charity to 'give something back'. In addition to our day-to-day business handling calls on behalf of many local companies, we were delighted to be able to handle calls for Cash For Kids. The three days of Radiothon were extremely busy but also a lot of fun; our agents enjoyed taking donations for such a worthwhile cause and, as we continue to grow, Message Pad looks forward to working again with Cash for Kids as well as other worthwhile charities."

Darren Fowler, charity Manager at Cool FM’s Cash for Kids, said “The people of Northern Ireland have once again shown their generosity and compassion by raising this substantial amount of money during our Radiothon campaign.  Everyone involved has been extremely touched by the support received and the cash raised from the event will be presented to ‘Helping Hand’, the charity which supports the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, who will certainly use it to make a huge difference to help provide vital life saving equipment.”
