Aer Lingus NI's most popular low fares airline: WHICH?

Bookmark and Share

WHICH? online survey rates Aer Lingus second out of 18 European airlines, beating other airlines flying out of NI.

Aer Lingus scored an impressive 71 points out of 100, just one percentage point from topping the poll. 5,745 respondents completed the customer satisfaction survey in March 2010 with members rating 18 short-haul airlines on everything from cabin staff efficiency and politeness, value for money, cleanliness of aircraft interior and cabin baggage allowance.

Aer Lingus’ Director of Communications Declan Kearney said; “The results speak for themselves – with less than three years flying from Northern Ireland we have easily left every other airline in our wake.

“I can only attribute our success to the fact that we are listening to our customers and giving them what they want, that is a low fare combined with quality service and to have this validated by our customers in the recent WHICH? survey is high praise indeed.”

The WHICH? survey said that flying with good quality airlines such as Aer Lingus, “can really make a difference to your holiday”. It advised that “sometimes it pays to look beyond the ticket price,” especially with reference to whether an airline actually lands in the city’s main airport or 50 miles away resulting in wasted time and expensive bus fares.

Mr Kearney continued; “It is obvious that the Northern Irish travelling public appreciate our transparency and the strong competition we bring to the market place. To date we have taken more than 1.7m bookings out of Belfast and are well on our way to selling our millionth booking to Continental Europe!

“Today we take great heart in this result, our Belfast base is a resounding success and is exceeding all our targets year on year. Our routes out of Belfast International are proving exceptionally popular with our customers with great city breaks to London, Rome and Barcelona and of course sun holidays in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands,” he said.
